This cute Christmas Stocking Cap knitting pattern features trees, Santa hats, holly berries and candy cane stripes, it’s the perfect holiday knit!
Is there possibly a more Christmassy kind of hat than a stocking cap? Santa wearing a stocking cap. So do the elves. And a stocking cap is even featured in the Night Before Christmas, right at the beginning when they settle down for their long winter’s nap!
I also love a stocking cap because of the extra design real estate. You all LOVED my Halloween stocking cap knitting pattern so I knew I had to do a Christmas version. Last year I dipped my toe in the water and designed the Wintry Stocking cap with cute trees and snow on it, but this year, my Christmas Stocking Cap knitting pattern is FULL ON Christmas.
It’s got a cozy folded brim to start with so your little one will be nice and toasty. Above that are a row of green Christmas trees with a little yellow french knot star on top. The details on this pattern really make it fun!
Above the Christmas trees are some adorable Santa hats with fuzzy brims and tops (it’s a great place to use up yarn scraps.
After that we have some cute holly leaves with three red berries. They are so pretty!
And finally, at the very top are some candy cane stripes and a few other little Christmas designs to finish it off.
And of course, you have to top a stocking cap with a fluffy yarn pom pom, right? I think it’s a law.
So, what do you think, are you going to knit a Christmas stocking cap? Are you loving allllll the Christmas or do you prefer something a little more subtle. I’m thinking if you’re going to bother, you might as well go all out, right? Let’s get knitting!
