This adorable gingerbread hat knitting pattern is the perfect knit for the Christmas holiday season!
Gingerbread craft projects are super in this year. And would you believe it, I actually designed this cute gingerbread hat knitting pattern last year. And I never shared it. So apparently I’m right on time? Or was I early?
Anyway, this cute knitting pattern has all the charm of Gingerbread with only a few rounds of easy Fair Isle stitches. So it’s a great pattern with easy colorwork if you need to practice stranded knitting or are just starting with it.
This cute holiday gingerbread hat knitting pattern is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn on size US 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles. You will need either double pointed knitting needles or the magic loop method to finish this Christmas knitting pattern.
And then, when it’s finished, you can add a cute bright red pom pom on top. When I was a kid we always used red hots for the buttons on our gingerbread people so I thought the red pom pom really made this Christmas knit scream gingerbread!
I like to use a pom pom maker to make my pom poms these days but I also have a great tutorial for making pom poms without any special tools just using your fingers! Are you ready to knit an easy gingerbread hat with me?
