Gingerbread House and Gingerbread Man Knitting Patterns

You can knit either one or BOTH of our gingerbread house knitting pattern or our gingerbread man knitting pattern this Christmas! They’ll be instant heirlooms!

This year, I really really wanted to knit a gingerbread house. And while I was designing that, I decided that I also wanted to knit a gingerbread man/person. So I did both in one pattern! That’s right, this cute gingerbread house and gingerbread man knitting pattern contains BOTH!

And let me tell you, that gingerbread man gave me some trouble so he really should run, run, as fast as he can! But don’t worry, I worked it all out and the instructions are simple for you all. You can make a knit gingerbread house or knit gingerbread man by following either written instructions or charted instructions, it’s up to you!

Both the gingerbread man knitting pattern and the gingerbread house knitting pattern are knit flat on straight knitting needles with worsted weight yarn.

The frosting and button details are added at the end with duplicate stitch for knitting. If you are new to using duplicate stitch, I have a fantastic tutorial right here on my site. It’s an easy and handy to technique to use!

For the gingerbread man knitting pattern, I finished him off with a round of single crochet stitches with white yarn. While this is optional, because of course, this is a knitting pattern, it really helps him keep his shape and adds a real pop so I do recommend it!
