Our rainbow wreath knitting pattern is fun, happy, bright and colorful and best of all, easy to knit!
This cute and colorful rainbow wreath knitting pattern is the perfect knitting project for Spring, Summer, St. Patrick’s Day or any time you want to add a fun accent to your home.
This easy wreath pattern is knit in the round using 9 rainbow colors of worsted weight yarn and 1 skein of white chenille yarn to look like a cloud. I love Bernat Pipsqueak in whitey white for this, but any similar yarn will work. You may want to decrease a few stitches or go down a needle size for that section if the stitches seem too loose.
The base of my knit wreaths are a 2 inch diameter pool noodle which are easy to find at a local dollar store. Mine carries them even in winter!
And don’t worry, if you hate knitting in the round using double pointed knitting needles, or magic loop, the rainbow wreath pattern does include a modification section explaining how to easy knit this wreath pattern flat and seam it. It’s actually really easy!
I thought the most fun part of this wreath knitting project was choosing the 9 rainbow colored yarns. I went with mid-tones but the rainbow wreath knitting pattern would be cute knit in bright rainbow colors or pastel rainbow colors. It’s really up to you!
Also up to you: whether you hang your wreath with the fluffy white chenille cloud section on the top, on the bottom or at an angle. I thought it looked really cute either way, you really can’t go wrong!
To find colors most similar to those I have chosen, I recommend Paintbox simply aran yarns. Although labeled aran, they do give me the same gauge as worsted and come in such a beautiful range of colors.
