This adorable Christmas baby hat knitting pattern, the Jolly Holly Hat, has a sweet gathered brim and bright green holly leaves and red holly berries!
Friends, I am totally obsessed with this holly hat. I had such a blast figuring out how to knit holly leaves. I love a good challenge. But a one that’s enjoyable not SO hard that you just get frustrated.
I would imagine the people sitting next to me in the coffee shop while I was trying to design a knit holly leaf were probably wondering what in the world I was doing because I kept scribbling things out and starting over. But it was a delightful morning for me.
A comfy chair, a cup of tea and a knitting puzzle.
Am I total weirdo?
Don’t worry, though, there aren’t any particularly tricky techniques for knitting the holly leaves and berries, I explain it all and it’s fun to try something a little different.
And, design methods aside, this holly hat turned out SO cute. I really love the sweet gathered brim with the bright cluster of holly leaves and berries right in the middle.
It’s so fun and festive!
And of course, like many of my holiday knitting patterns, this cute baby hat knitting pattern would be an amazing Christmas gift!
Or, wouldn’t it be soooo cute in family photos on a Christmas card?! Oh man, I want to redo ours now!
Either way personally, I like to knit hats like this one earlier in the season so my little one can wear it from the day after Thanksgiving until December 26th! It’s a little weird knitting Christmassy things in September but you gotta get the most out of it, am I right?
