Funny Bunny Hat Knitting Pattern

Get your little bunnies ready for spring by knitting the funny bunny hat knitting pattern in any of four sizes from newborn to toddler!

When I first started knitting animal hat knitting patterns years ago, I favored VERY simple designs. It was partly for style and partly because I wanted the patterns to be as simple to knit as possible. And my original bunny hat knitting pattern fit the bill. It’s still adorable.

But over time you all have requested more options and more detail and I am happy to oblige. I have a ton of bunny (and other animal) ideas. In fact, I already have a bunny bonnet and a bunny headband in my collection! I even have some fair isle bunny knitting patterns and a tiny Easter bunny stuffy you can knit!

But what I didn’t have yet was a more realistic full bunny hat knitting pattern, so the Funny Bunny hat was born and I just LOVE it. This is a really fun one to knit. And though it is fun for Easter, it’s equally adorable any time of year for anyone who loves bunnies. No holiday or season requirements!

This cute pattern includes classic bunny ears with sweet pink lining, a cute pink nose and white bunny buck teeth, smiley eyes and whiskers AND it has a fluffy white pom pom bunny tail on the back.

I would like to note though, the bunny tail on the back of the hat is optional. If you have a little one who spends a lot of time in a car seat or stroller, the tail would not be comfortable/safe and you should skip it. But for a bunny who likes to run around, the bunny tail is a fun addition that will definitely make people chuckle at the park!

Funny Bunny Hat Knitting Pattern

(includes Sizes 0-3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 2T+)

Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches

Worsted weight yarn in tan, pink, white, and charcoal
US 7 16″ circular knitting needles
US 7 double pointed needles
Yarn needle
1.5 inch pom pom maker (optional)
