This cute little spring and summer fresh strawberry hat knitting pattern has an adorable tiny polka dot background with a bright fun knit fresh strawberry applique!
Ok, so maybe it’s a tiny bit late in the summer for strawberries. But I didn’t get my act together until now. And July strawberries are still SO much tastier than winter strawberries so hopefully you all can give me a break on the timing.
I know you knitters always like to work ahead for baby things anyway, right?
This cute fresh strawberry hat knitting pattern turned out exactly like my sketch. I love it when that happens. It’s a fun pattern to knit too. First you knit up an easy and basic baby hat with a very simple tiny polka dot pattern. If you’ve never tried stranded knitting before, this is a great pattern to start with because it’s honestly only very few stitches!
Then when the base has is finished, you can knit up the strawberry applique. That’ll take under a half hour. Maybe 15 minutes if you’re speedy.
And then I decided to embroider the stem and leaves on. I was going for a kind of vintage look and I think the embroidered strawberry leaves totally work!
Plus they’re easy, did I mention, easy. It’s my middle name. (Not really, ha!)
