This adorable cheerful reindeer hat knitting pattern uses duplicate stitch in knitting to add the cute reindeer face on the front!
On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen…whoa, it’s an adorable and cheerful reindeer hat knitting pattern on its way! This cute little Christmas hat knitting pattern is made using duplicate stitch. It’s super easy, you knit a super comfy basic hat first in the round using my basic hat pattern (it’s included in the pattern and has been tested hundreds of times) and then you embroider the adorable reindeer face pattern on the front, after the hat is finished. Piece of cake!
I’m in a big embroidery phase right now, I find it relaxing, so this pattern using duplicate stitch for knitting is a very satisfying project process for me. I hope you like it too. If you haven’t tried knitting duplicate stitch before, it’s actually really easy and I have a tutorial for duplicate stitch right on my site!
But hey, if you’d rather, you could also modify this pattern to use my knit flat hat knitting pattern and then use the chart for instarsia, it’s really up to you, don’t you love a flexible pattern? We all like to have options! Intarsia instructions are not included but if you’ve done it before, it would be easy.
And of course, my reindeer has a red nose, but feel free to make yours any color you want, we love all the reindeer that pull Santa’s sleigh (and all of those that didn’t make the team too!) I mean, we all learned our lesson from the claymation movie, right? Ha!
Are you ready to knit this cute cheerful reindeer hat with me? Let’s get flying!
