Big Zig Hat Knitting Pattern

Sometimes I feel like my designs all have to be super meaningful and like special little unicorns that are so different that nothing like them has every existed before. Don’t get me wrong, I have a ton of patterns like that including an ACTUAL unicorn.

But then sometimes I feel like we all really need solid, fun basics. Basics are not just for beginners, they are classic for a reason. Today is a solid, fun basic day and I love this big zig hat knitting pattern just as much as some of my more intricate knitting patterns.

I love this one because it’s fun and bold, and colorful but it’s also easy to knit. And I love that the big zig hat can be endlessly customized. I think mine is super cute in a bunch of fun coordinating sherbet pastels, but it would be amazing in bright colors too.

You could even knit a big zig hat in sports team colors or anything else you can think of!

And of course, I always get heart eyes from accent color pom poms. They’re just the best. The pattern contains instructions for making poms without any special tools, but of course you can use a pom pom maker if you have one. I’m pretty sure this easy baby hat knitting pattern is going to be a staple for me to to make as gifts, there are just so many options!

Also, let’s not underestimate the allure of a rhyming pattern name either, right? That makes the pattern at least 20% more fun. Ha! If you aren’t a fan of rhyming names and terrible puns, you might possibly be in the wrong place. That’s how we roll around here!
