The Valentine Big Love Hat knitting pattern is a fun baby knit with the word LOVE on the front and adorable hearts all the way around the rest!
If you’ve been here for a while, you know I totally love knitting words on baby hats. The first time I designed a knitting pattern with words was my Valentine Love Notes Hats and I think it definitely still my fave.
The Big Love Hat knitting pattern is another version of that idea but just a little different and I love how it turned out. I’m a big fan of hats that are knit in the round but still have a distinguishable front and back pattern, it’s so fun!
This cute baby hat knitting pattern has the word LOVE on the front and a double row of hearts all the way around the rest of the hat. I promise, it will look incredibly sweet on your little Valentine.
I recommend either adding stitch markers after every eight stitches or placing stitch markers around the centered LOVE section so it’s easy to keep track of the repeats on each round. After you place the markers, you’ll barely have to think about getting confused!
If I had a choice, I would always knit fair isle or stranded knitting patterns in the round. It’s one thousand times easier than trying to knit with more than color while knitting flat. That means colorwork hats are awesome!
I chose some tone on tone colors for my version of this hat, choosing a light pink and a medium dusty pink. But I would love to see this one in all kinds of different color combinations. If you knit a Big Love Hat, please make sure you share it with me, I’d love to see what you come up with!
