Gold Leaf is an amazing craft supply to try and these beautiful gold leaf crafts will add some sparkle to your life!
So, St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and I realized today that we haven’t talked about the one of the most fun part of this holiday, the GOLD at the end of the rainbow! I mean honestly, who doesn’t love some gold sparkle?
My youngest literally lists “sparkly gold” as one of her favorite colors and it’s making a big comeback in jewelry and home decor too! In fact, a couple years ago I got my big kid a box of 24 carat gold foil playing cards (complete with certificate of authenticity) as a gift and he flipped. They are his absolute favorite thing ever (psst, they’re not expensive)!
My kids also like to ask me if everything gold they see is actually REAL gold. No, that plastic ring you got from the pizza restaurant is not real gold. No that building piece is not real gold. But boy would it be fun to do some gold leaf crafting and be able to say, yes, it’s REAL gold!
I have to tell you, if you have never crafted with gold leaf you are missing out. It is one of the most fun and satisfying craft supplies to use ever. It feels SO fancy but it really doesn’t cost very much. And it’s kind of magical and fun to apply. Although I will warn you, the adhesives can be a little stinky.
But to watch the gold leaf adhere and then smooth onto the surface is kind of magical. Also who doesn’t love a craft where imperfection is expected? You want your gold leaf craft projects to be a little crinkly and imperfect and wonderful.
I promise if you try some gold leaf crafts you will have fun! Let’s get some inspiration!
