These adorable free printable watercolor Valentine’s Day cards wrap around a fun watercolor set and make a great classroom Valentine’s Day gift!

I saw heart shaped watercolor sets this year and thought they would be SO fun to use for Valentine’s Day cards for my elementary kiddo. The price per set was actually about the same as any other trinket or party favor type Valentine but these are much more useful!
And our school is food-free which is awesome for kids with allergies and much easier for teachers to manage so a watercolor set is the perfect fun but unique Valentine’s Day gift for kids!
If you can’t find the heart shaped watercolor sets, this would be equally as cute with regular watercolor sets. The size is pretty much standard and you can get them in bulk online or purchase from a place like your local dollar store.
My watercolor sets did come with a sticker on the front which I removed by holding it under a warm hair dryer and peeling carefully.
Then you can simply print, cut and attach these cute wraparound Valentine’s Day labels to your watercolor set and boom, you have watercolor Valentines! For easiest assembly, have your kiddo write names on the labels before you wrap them around the paint sets. Then just wrap around and secure with some double stick tape. Easy peasy!
Tips & Tricks for great looking Printable Valentine’s Day Cards
- For best quality, have them printed at your local copy shop.
- Have them printed on CARDSTOCK instead of paper, they’ll look a lot nicer.
- Make sure you don’t click “scale to fit” or change the size of the images of they may be distorted.
- Cut the cards apart with either a paper cutter or a craft knife & ruler. No scissors, it’s too hard to get a nice straight cut.
- Have your kids write on the valentines BEFORE you finish assembling them, it’s a lot easier.
- Have your kids write on a few at a time instead of making them sit down and do the entire class at once, I promise it will be a lot easier.
