Knit a beautiful Christmas ornament with any meaningful date on it with this easy yearly date ornament knitting pattern!
I know some of you have been asking for new Christmas ornament knitting pattern for a couple of years now so this year, you’re in for a treat! I have a whole bunch to share and they’re all both easy and SUPER cute.
The first pattern is this adorable Yearly Date Ornament knitting pattern. These date ornaments are knit flat (yay!) and include instructions for knitting them with ANY date on the front that you want. That’s right, ANY date! Of course I’ve created colorwork charts for the obvious years, but I’ve designed this pattern to includes patterns for digits 0-9 so you can knit any date you want on your yearly date Christmas ornaments.
You can knit the year your children were born, or the year you were married or even a year in the future when something is GOING to happen. It’s totally up to you, isn’t that fun?! I mean, if you want to knit your PIN number, you could do that too, ha!
I had one lovely reader who knit my monogram ornaments for her entire extended family one year (how awesome is that?) and I was thinking these would be fun to knit to memorialize a special holiday gathering. For example, if there was one year where you had a holiday family reunion, you could knit everyone an ornament with that date on it.
Here are three different years that I knit, they really did knit up super fast and you have the choice to make the back side the same or, if you want the project to be even speedier, I’ve explained how to knit one side plain also. It’s up to you!
These cute yearly ornaments would be super adorable tied on top of presents and packages as well! Basically, they’re amazing and I hope you knit many of them. You know me, I love a smaller scale project because there’s almost instant gratification and you can make more than one if you want to! So, are you ready to get started? Let’s go!
