This cute Watermelon Bow Hat knitting pattern is the perfect cool, colorful, refreshingly adorable hat for your summer babies and toddlers!
If you’re new around here, this entire journey basically started for me with an adorably simple bow hat. I was looking for bow hat knitting patterns but couldn’t find one so I figured out my own and lo and behold it was an instant hit.
Who knew there was a bow shaped hole in the baby hat knitting pattern world? Anyway, that simple little pattern turned into a full time job for me, and I feel blessed beyond belief to have stumbled into it. Seriously, I am the luckiest.
So, of course, because of what my 8 year old superhero loving son would call my “origin story” I have a soft spot for knitting patterns involving bows. While I may have a gazillion ideas, I will probably never tire of playing around with versions of the basic bow hat. It’s just an adorable winner.
The Watermelon Bow Hat knitting pattern is a good example. I bet you didn’t know you needed a watermelon bow hat until you SAW a watermelon bow hat, am I right? I didn’t either. But once I sketched it out and knit up the sample it was love at first sight.
It might be the bright summery watermelon-y colors. Or it might be the fact that the two sides of the cute watermelon bow look like two juicy wedges of watermelon. It might even be those cute little embroidered watermelon seeds. I don’t know. All I know is, it makes me smile.
And really, what more can you want from a baby hat knitting pattern?
If you make a petal hat for your little one, please be sure to share it with me on Ravelry, those linked projects really help me!
