Tasty Turkey Hat Knitting Pattern

This adorable turkey hat knitting pattern makes a fantastic knit for anyone from baby to adult this Thanksgiving season!

I decided this was the year to design a more traditional turkey hat knitting pattern. I have a very cute one with only feathers. And another adorable turkey hat knitting pattern done with duplicate stitch.

This cute tasty turkey hat knitting pattern has some fun-to-knit feathers and a cute turkey face. It’s a fantastic knit for Thanksgiving and will be adorable for a baby’s first Thanksgiving or for anyone else from toddler, to kid, to adult!

This cute Thanksgiving turkey hat is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn using both circular knitting needles and double pointed knitting needles. You can knit this hat using the magic loop method if you prefer that to dpns.

The turkey face details and the easy knit turkey feathers are both knit flat and then sewn on to the base hat at the end.

For best results with the turkey feather knitting pattern, block your feathers after you knit. Even if you use acrylic yarn, a steam block will make them much easier to work with.

This pattern also doubles up the feathers into two layers. I’ve done this for two reasons. First of all, doubling the feathers makes them stand up MUCH better than single layer feathers. We don’t want droopy knit turkey feathers! Secondly, when the feathers are doubled, you get to see the pretty feather design from both the front and back of the hat.

Gauge: 19 stitches = 4 inches
