This cute lucky leprechaun hat knitting pattern is knit flat in gold, green and black, the perfect St. Patrick’s day knitting pattern for your little one!
I think it was just about time to knit a Leprechaun Hat knitting pattern. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t do one before. I guess I always tell myself that St. Patrick’s Day isn’t my favorite holiday. And then, when it rolls around, I get all into the rainbows. So maybe I DO like it, it’s just that green isn’t my favorite color?
I did have to laugh because we have never really done anything for St. Patrick’s Day at home with my kids. I usually give them some green foods for dinner, celery, pickles, green peppers, that kind of thing. But last year one of my children came home from school having made a leprechaun trap in school. It was sort of like someone gave me an elf on the shelf against my will. They got SO into the leprechaun trap and suddenly, there I was, totally unprepared for leprechauns!
Thanks, school, thanks a lot. This year, I guess I’d better be more prepared and make sure to grab some green m&m’s or something. At least I will have a leprechaun hat for Baby to wear, do I get a gold star for that! Ha!
This cute baby leprechaun hat knitting pattern is knit FLAT on straight knitting needles and seamed at the end. The pattern includes instructions for an invisible ladder stitch to close up that seam. The belt and buckle are knit using intarsia colorwork techniques and basic knowledge of those techniques IS required to knit this pattern. Be sure to twist your yarns when to change colors to avoid gaps.
If you knit a leprechaun hat for your little one, I hope you share it with me as well as any trouble that leprechauns get up to in your house, I need all the help I can get!
