Happiest Birthday Cake Hat Knitting Pattern

This adorable Happy Birthday Cake hat can be knit in any of four sizes and with as many candles as you want for your special baby or toddler!

Of all the little hats I’ve knit, this cute Happy Birthday Cake hat truly delighted Baby V. I mean, what kid isn’t excited about birthday cake really? My kids also love special birthday headgear, they can’t pass up a good birthday hat or birthday crown. I would knit this for myself, but I think with the number of candles requires it would be too heavy to wear, ha!

Anyway, at our house we like to discuss and imagine our birthday cakes when we’re upset and then pretend to blow out the candles as a way to calm down. So we have developed a lot of different ideas for birthday cake flavor, frosting and sprinkle combinations. It’s actually a really fun thing to imagine. But then, I don’t know about you, but with all these delicious cake ideas that we’ve invented swirling around in my head, it’s hard to choose what I want when my actual birthday rolls around. You know? So many delicious options!

Today we imagined a birthday cake that was just a giant Oreo cookie with the actual Oreo filling inside. Sign me up. Seriously.

Anyway, I knit my cute birthday cake hat with basic vanilla frosting with pastel rainbow sprinkles and a cute little pink and white frosting swag. And we added pink candles, but you can make yours any color you want, all the same or all different! And of course make as many as you need depending on how old your birthday child is!
