These cute little Easter Bunny Eggs are so charming and easy to make! They’re perfect to add to your list of Easter crafts to make this year!
These sweet little Easter Bunny eggs will make everyone chuckle when they see them. You’ll want to add them right away to your list of Easter crafts to make and honestly, they couldn’t be easier, plus, no hardboiled eggs!
Seriously, besides egg salad, what do you all do with all your hardboiled eggs after Easter? I remember eating them whole for lunch occasionally and my mom makes really good egg salad but I have no idea what else we did with all of ours when I was kid. Sometimes we’d blow out the shells before we dyed them, but that’s not super easy to do and then you’re still stuck eating scrambled eggs for a week.
And anyway, as I’ve mentioned before, my husband haaaaaaates hardboiled eggs. Like, he hates them so much that if you gave him the choice of eating just one hardboiled egg or never ever watching football again for the rest of his life, I think he would really take some time and think about it. (And he really really really loves football)
So, as a result we have never really dyed Easter eggs with O before he was about 4. But then I saw these craft eggs at the store and grabbed two dozen! They’re perfect for making Easter Bunny Eggs! I love that they’re already white, I love that they won’t break, I love that there are no leftover eggs to deal with, I love that you (I’m sorry, I mean the Easter Bunny, ahem) can hide them and not worry about a stinky surprise if you forget where you/he/she put one, and I love that they come in a real egg carton, so cute! (And bonus points for being an awesome alternative for people with egg allergies!)
I’m not totally sure what they’re made of but they leave a bit of chalky residue on your fingers when you touch them so I’m thinking maybe plastic covered in plaster? Or something similar that would absorb egg dye? We haven’t tried the dying them yet so the jury’s still out on that, but they were fun to use for Easter Bunny Eggs! Here’s how I made these cute bunny eggs:
Easter Bunny Eggs Supply List
- White Craft Eggs
- White stiffened felt (you could also use cardstock)
- Pink and black acrylic craft paint
- Hot glue
- Small white pom poms
Easter Bunny Eggs Instructions
1. First, using scissors, I cut out ears shaped like this from the stiffened felt, mine are about 1 1/4″ long.2. The felt I used had one side that was slightly smoother, so I painted pink inner ears on that side using a small paintbrush.3. Then I cut small ovals for the feet. These are about 3/4″ long and 1/2″ wide.
Here’s my ear and foot assembly line…4. Then, using a very small brush, I gave the bunny eggs cute faces.
5. Then, using hot glue, I glued the feet to the front of the egg. Make sure they touch the table, they help hold him up.
6. Then while the bunny egg is sitting on the table (you still have to hold it up at this point), glue a small pom pom to the back for the tail. Now you should have two feet and one pom pom touching the table which should keep your bunny eggs upright!
7. Finally I added the ears! I bent the very bottoms of the ears back a little so the ears stood up straighter. And if you want to make one floppy, go ahead!
And that’s it, your little Easter Bunny Eggs are ready for Easter morning! They look so cute on a mantel or shelf!

It is not exactly the Easter season, but I was looking for a ways to make my little one eat his boiled eggs. This might work!

Cassie, the level of cute here is almost more than I can handle. Nathan and I like hard boiled eggs, but you are totally right about the stinky surprise! That has always been the reason that we don’t do egg hunts!
