Darlin’ Daisy Hat Knitting Pattern

The Darlin Daisy Hat knitting pattern has a pretty daisy peeking over the folded brim, this easy knit hat pattern is perfect for your little one!

Have you ever seen a hat that screams SPRING as well as this one? The Darlin’ Daisy Hat knitting pattern turned out just so exactly like what I imagined and I am so pleased.

This cute spring hat knitting pattern has a cozy folded brim to combat those chilly winds. It’s knit in the round with worsted weight yarn and then the daisy motif is added afterwards with duplicate stitch.

If you already know how to do duplicate stitch in knitting then this one will be easy peasy for you! And if not, I swear, it’s super easy. I even have a duplicate stitch knitting tutorial. It’s kind of like a cross between knitting, embroidery and counted cross stitch and once you get going it’s super easy. You’ll have your daisy done in no time!

I chose to make my sample kind of a light orchid purple with a classic white and yellow daisy but you could change up the color combinations in any way that you like. The knitting pattern comes with a duplicate stitch color chart and you can just substitute whatever yarn colors you would like to use. Piece of cake.

I really do love how just half of the daisy peeks up over the folded brim. I found that, because it’s only half of the daisy, it worked well for me to tack the folded brim in place so that it stays folded up just right. Just a couple little stitches on the edge to keep it lined up with the flower makes sure that it always looks great (especially if you have a little one who fiddles with hats. But that’s optional, of course!

• US 7 (4.5 mm) 16″ circular knitting needles
• US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
