This beautiful tiny basketweave hat is so gorgeous up close with alternating diagonal stitches, you’ll love this modern twist on knitting for your baby, kid or favorite adult!
I am SO in love with the texture of this tiny basketweave hat knitting pattern. This was such a fun hat to knit because this gorgeous pattern of alternating diagonal stitches just appears as you go along and it’s not hard!
I just can’t get enough of how pretty this stitch is!
It also looks fabulous in pretty much any worsted weight yarn that you want to use so this is a good chance to pick something pretty. This is one of my faves, Malabrigo worsted in Orchid. It’s soooo soft and I just love the slight variegated color. I think it makes the tiny basketweave pattern really pop! (Nope I don’t work with Malabrigo, I just like their yarn)
I think a pattern like this makes a really great choice for a baby shower gift too because it’s really lovely and impressive but it’s also kind of neutral and pretty much any recipient will LOVE it. This stitch also makes a nice cozy thick knit fabric so it’s a great hat for fall and winter! Enjoy!
