This adorable red and white striped candy cane hat for newborns, babies and toddlers is perfect for the Christmas season!
I have a whole bunch of Christmas hat knitting patterns available but I though a sweet little candy cane hat would make a good addition to the collection. This is a fun (but easy) fair isle knitting pattern, knit in the round, that results in cute diagonal red and white stripes, just like a peppermint candy cane!
My test of whether I’ve done a good job designing a hat or not is to show it to O and see if he knows what it is. I had only knit about 2 inches of this one when he said, “Ooo, a candy cane hat!” Hooray!
I especially like how the stripes swirl together at the top of the hat. It’s so cute!

Such a cute hat! Is there a way to adjust it for a tween?
