Mini Pumpkin Hat Knitting Pattern

Well, friends, every year I say to myself, “Self, I’m out of Halloween ideas.” Halloween kind of exhausts me. There so much pressure to be creative with costumes. And I am not the kind of person who thrives under pressure.

So every year, I’m like, ugh, my kids don’t care that much, I’ll just do easy costumes this year. And then, spoiler alert, the weather cools off, the fall decor comes out…and I have more Halloween ideas.

Like this mini pumpkin hat knitting pattern. I’m kind of obsessed with how it turned out. Besides looking adorable with a little pumpkin on top, I have a thing for mini pumpkins.

I’m in trouble when Trader Joe’s puts out the giant bins of mini pumpkins by the front door. They’re all so adorable! And they’re only 50 cents. And they don’t get rotten inside as fast as the big pumpkins…

I swear, they jump in my cart all by themselves.

(Also, mini pumpkins are perfect for toddlers to decorate and much safer than trying to carve with little ones. Give them some paint sticks and let them go to town. They’re happy and it’s a project that doesn’t take 9 hours. You’re welcome. )

Anyway, I’m so happy with how realistic the little mini pumpkin on the top of this hat turned out. It’s awesome when patterns turn out exactly the way I envisioned them beforehand!
