Frankenstein Hat Knitting Pattern

Knit up this adorable (and spooky) Frankenstein hat with complete with neck bolts in any of six sizes from baby to kid to adult!

Ok, before we get to the knitting pattern, let me start off by saying, yes, I DO know it’s actually Frankenstein’s monster and Frankenstein is the scientist, not the monster. But no one’s going to google “Frankenstein’s Monster Hat”. Like no matter what we do, people still say “ATM machine”. It is what it is. So we’re going to call it a Frankenstein Hat and be done with it? Ok? Ok!

No matter what you call it, how CUTE is this Frankenstein Hat?! Wouldn’t it make the most adorable Halloween costume? I love any of my hats for Halloween, they are the perfect incredibly easy costume for babies.

Because let’s get real, a fancy costume on a baby is a pain and half the time they’re covered up anyway. So put on some black pjs, add a Frankenstein Hat and you’re all done! You’re welcome! 

This Frankenstein hat is knit in the round and does contain a little bit of fair isle knitting (knitting with two colors at once) at the hairline but it’s really easy so if you’re new to fair isle or want to try it out, this would be a great pattern to start with!

Frankenstein Hat Knitting Pattern

Sizes included: 0-3 months, (6 months, 1-2 years, 3-6 years, Child Large/Adult Small, Adult Large) Read our sizing guidelines post for more information.

Gauge: 19 stitches = 4 inches

• Worsted weight yarn
• US 7 (4.5 mm) 16″ circular knitting needles
• US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
