Cute house shaped wooden blocks make this DIY home sweet home decor perfect to display on a shelf or to give to a friend as a housewarming gift!

I grabbed up these super cute wooden house shapes at the craft store a while ago but didn’t make this cute home sweet home decor until recently. 

Usually, when I buy something at the craft store without a plan, it’s a bad idea because then it just sits in my office closet and I take forever to use it because I don’t know what to make. 

This time the problem was the opposite, I have TOO many ideas for these cute wooden house shaped blocks! So, I have a feeling, even though I started with and love this home sweet home decor idea, I might just repurpose and use these again. 

I can either remove the vinyl, or just flip them around and do something on the other side. I’m kind of excited about all of the options!

Home Sweet Home Decor Supply List

House shapes (you can make these yourself but cutting one end of a length of 2 x 4 at 45 degree angles)

White vinyl

Silhouette Cameo or other cutting machine

Transfer tape

Home Sweet Home Decor Instructions

1. First, measure your house shapes and draw a rectangle that size in your cutting machine design software.Then add text that fits inside that rectangle and arrange it how you like it.  Don’t use any overly complex fonts or fonts with thin parts.
2. Load the vinyl sheet into the machine on a cutting mat and cut using the default settings for adhesive vinyl, then weed your home sweet home vinyl design
3. Lay transfer tape over the design and rub all over, then carefully lift the home sweet home design
4. Place the home sweet home decor design on top of one of the wooden house shapes and rub all over again. Then carefully peel off the transfer tape

And that’s it! Your DIY home sweet home decor is finished!
