Hamburger Hat Knitting Pattern

Who doesn’t need a delicious hamburger hat knitting pattern? This one is complete with cheese, lettuce and ketchup on a sesame seed bun!

A friend asked me the other day what I did over the weekend and my answer was, “I knit a hamburger for work.” I have both the weirdest and the best job ever.

A hamburger hat knitting pattern seemed like the perfect summer knitting pattern. Who wouldn’t love a hamburger hat for a barbecue or family reunion or a chilly summer camping evening?

This cute hamburger hat knitting pattern comes with instructions to knit your own burger hat in any of six sizes from newborn to kid all the way to adult. This easy hat pattern is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn. The stitches are simple but you do need to know the basics of Fair Isle knitting techniques to complete your hamburger hat.

The good news is that the colorwork sections are very minimal, you use Fair Isle just for a few rounds for the cheese, ketchup, lettuce and again for the sesame seeds. Piece of cake! (Piece of burger?!)

Sizes included: 0-3 months, (6 months, 1-2 years, 3-6 years, Child Large/Adult Small, Adult Large) Read our sizing guidelines post for more information.

Gauge: 19 stitches = 4 inches

• Worsted weight yarn
• US 7 (4.5 mm) 16″ circular knitting needles
• US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
