The Flutter Lace Bonnet Knitting Pattern is such a lovely classic baby knitting pattern with an easy 4 row lace repeat, this is a quick and pretty knit!
Shhh, don’t tell my husband, I’m in love with a baby bonnet knitting pattern. If we were in first grade you would tease me that if I love it so much, why don’t I marry it?!
I mean…I really DO love it. I fell in love with lace knitting years and years ago. I just love how it looks hard and complicated but often (ok, not always, but often) it really isn’t hard and complicated. Basically I like to impress people without doing too much hard work.
Like the Flutter Lace Bonnet knitting pattern, this one has a 6 stitch and 4 row repeat, so it’s easy to memorize but with an impressively complex and intricate result. Basically, it’s mindless knitting with a twist!
That’s my favorite kind of project.
I can watch a show or a movie while I’m working and I won’t hopelessly screw up the knitting OR miss important plot points in the show OR lose track of what my children are doing. The perfect balance, am I right? (Has there ever been a more I’m-an-old-and-boring-adult sentence written? Ha!)
Did I mention the Flutter Lace Bonnet knitting pattern looks super cute in back too? I love it when a pattern works out like that. It makes me so happy. I don’t usually plan that part out ahead of time, just kind of figure it out as a I go along and there’s a point when I can tell it’s going to work out JUST like I wanted to it, that is such a good feeling. A designer’s high. Love it!
If you knit up a Flutter Lace Bonnet, be sure to share it with me, I love seeing what you all make and those linked projects on Ravelry really help my business!
