This cute easy plaid hat knitting pattern is knit with just two colors which makes for a quick, fun project with an adorable large scale plaid result!
My new Easy Plaid Hat knitting pattern is such a fun hat to knit. It’s perfect if you’re new to fair isle knitting (aka stranded knitting or knitting with two colors of yarn at once) because it’s a simple pattern, easy to understand and doesn’t have any long floats or difficult sections.
I love this kind of project that’s mildly challenging enough to be interesting but not SO challenging that you’ll get confused or mess up if your kids come in the room yelling while you’re working.
I mean, not that my kids ever do that…cough, cough…
In fact, it’s perfect if you’re wanting a pattern to practice your tension or technique. Plus the final hat is just so darn cute!
I love a large scale simple plaid pattern like this, it’s really in right now, and depending on what colors you choose it will work for boys or girls, which, as you know, is my favorite kind of pattern!
I basically have about five more color combos of this hat lined up to knit.
I’m loving it in this pretty linen and dark teal, but I’d love to see what colors you guys pick! Don’t forget to share your finished hat with me on Ravelry, I love to see what you guys come up with!
