Every year I share a craft gift guide (and a knitting gift guide and a crafty kids gift guide) and they’re always popular, so let’s keep it up! This year I’m trying to get it up for you a little bit earlier, because we’re all hearing about shipping delays. So, try and shop early. And don’t forget your local stores, we have some fantastic local arts and crafts stores in our town and I’m sure you do too!
The real question, is how do you decide which one of these awesome things to get for your crafty friend or loved one. If you don’t know what kinds of crafts they like to do, ask a few unassuming questions! You don’t want to buy fancy crochet hooks for your friend who only knits, right? Or scrapbook paper for someone who’s into vinyl projects?
Of course there are some craft gift ideas that really will work for anyone. For example, any kind of splurge-y tool or supply, a nicer version of something they might already have, like gold scissors or a cordless hot glue gun. Something that is fancier than they might spend money on them themselves is a great choice.
Or if you have an adventurous crafty friend (me!) go for a fun craft kit and let them try something new! Craft kits make great gifts because in most cases, everything you need is inside and your friend won’t have to hunt the aisles of a craft store for a supply or tool and/or spend a bunch of money for a huge amount of some supply they might not use again.
Same goes for craft books, they might want to try some of the projects in a pretty new craft book or they might just enjoy reading through and getting inspired!

I got this same kit recently and loved it. The packaging was great, it came with everything including a decent paintbrush. And I really liked that it was enough work that you felt like you created something, but not soooo much paint by numbering that you felt like it was never going to end.
