This adorable heart hat with cute 2 color hearts is a fun challenge to knit for your newborn, baby or toddler!
This adorable heart hat was such a fun learning experience for me! In the past two years I have learned sooo much about knitting. One of the main things being, I’m not really a rule follower. For example, when it comes to stranded fair isle knitting, it’s fairly traditional, you never use more than two colors at once. And honestly, when I did some reading about knitting with three colors at once, people were talking about how difficult it is and how it should be used sparingly, etc.
Well, guess what guys, this cute 2 color heart hat uses 3 colors for the entire heart motif. That’s right, I went for it! And guess what, it was totally not that difficult. Is this a hat a beginner should attempt? No. Was it a little slower going than other patterns I’ve done? Yes. Is this in any way a traditional multi-color knitting pattern? Nope! But it was absolutely manageable and I was pleasantly surprised how it turned out. Honestly, being able to use more than 2 colors per round opens up a lot of possibilities for me, but I think I’ll wait and see what you all think. So if you make this hat, let me know how it goes!
