Make this pretty spring flower wreath with burlap, lace and handpainted wood flowers!

I made this wreath on one of those rare sunny saturdays when it’s still technically winter but for some reason we get one warm day. O played pretty much the entire day outside with the neighbor girls, happy as clams imagining that the swingset was a ship and they were on a grand adventure (watch out for that shark!). And baby V took decent naps for one so I got to sit at the dining room table and just make a mess. I was definitely dreaming of spring the entire time and I think it turned out looking very much like that. At least I hope it did.

Anyway, it all started with these cute wood laser cut flowers I found at Michaels.DIY Spring Flower Wreath | littleredwindow.com The craft stores have really been upping their game lately, don’t you think? I’m finding lots of current, well-designed supplies which is a big change from how craft stores used to be when I was younger and they were filled with things that grandmas would love. (No offense if you’re a grandma!) I spent a good hour painting them (and re-painting them when I couldn’t get the colors the way I wanted) and it was just delightful and quiet. I felt a lot calmer when I was done. Anyway, here’s how I put it all together:

Wood flower shapes (these are similar or these would also work!)

Acrylic craft paint

Burlap Lace Ribbon (similar)

Styrofoam wreath form

Hot glue gun

1. First, I painted the wood flowers…DIY Spring Flower Wreath | littleredwindow.com DIY Spring Flower Wreath | littleredwindow.com2. Then I wrapped the wreath form in the burlap/lace ribbon. Mine was really wide so I cut in half width wise. I also didn’t wrap around and around because sometimes it’s hard to get that even (and it uses up more ribbon) instead I wrapped short pieces just around to the back and glued them individually. No one will see the back so this is a great cheat! The I arranged my flowers and hot glued them on. I also glued a little loop of string to the top back for hanging and that was it!
