Valentine Plaids Hats Knitting Pattern

Mix and match all three patterns in any of four sizes for your baby or toddler with this cute Valentine Plaids Hats knitting pattern!

A couple of years ago I designed some Christmas plaid hats in red and green and they have been a big hit. So this year I thought it would be fun to do Valentine Plaids Hats! This cute knitting pattern contains three different plaids, each with a row of hearts around the brim.

This was a fun combo, I have never really combine plaid with anything else and I love it so much! And of course, Valentine’s Day is always my favorite color combination for crafts and knitting. All the pink and red and white just makes me happy.

I also decided, to stop the plaid before the decrease section this time and honestly, I’m really happy with that as well. It makes these cute Valentine plaids hats much easier to knit.

It’s hard to pick a favorite but I think it might be the diagonal plaid one. No wait, I like the gingham! Ah!

I was also thinking it would be cute if you knit the row of hearts in an entirely different color from the plaid. Wouldn’t that be adorable? The first plaid is the this cute small gingham in light pink, dark pink and white.

Then we have my fave, the diagonal plaid! This one has a little more white space that I love and I think it frames the hearts really well.

And finally, the offset plaid with uneven rows. I like this one because it kind of has its own personality!

Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches

• Worsted weight yarn
• US 7 16″ circular knitting needles
• US 7 double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
