Rainbow Polka Dots Hat Knitting Pattern

This cute rainbow hat knitting pattern is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn. The rainbow polka dots are added at the end with duplicate stitch. If you have never done duplicate stitch before, I have an extensive how to do duplicate stitch tutorial on my site!

The most important thing to know about this cute rainbow knitting pattern is that you will add a different number of colored rainbow polka dots for each size which means you will need to choose a different number of rainbow colored yarns. Refer to the list below to find out how many rainbow colors you need to choose for each size!

Number of rainbow colored yarns required for each hat size:

0-3 months – 7 colors
6 months – 8 colors
Age 1-2 years – 9 colors
Ages 3-6 years – 10 colors
Child Large/Adult Small – 11 colors
Adult Large – 12 colors

Gauge: 19 stitches = 4 inches

Worsted weight yarn in white and the number of rainbow colors required for whatever size you are making
US 7 (4.5 mm) 16″ circular knitting needles
US 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles
Yarn needle
