The Rainbow Double Pom Pom Hat knitting pattern is an easy straightforward knit with no decrease and a cute rainbow on top that ends in two fluffy cloud pom poms!
There are a lot of things to love about my new Rainbow Double Pom Pom Hat knitting pattern. Number one, of course, is the rainbow colors. I love how they’re just on top of that like a cute little surprise. This works well for a baby and kids’ hat because they’re shorter than us and so we can see this adorable detail easily.
Number two, is the double pom poms. When your little one wears one of these double pom pom hats, the poms will bounce around when they run and it’s pretty much the cutest thing ever. I always like a regular pom pom hat, this style is double the fun!
And finally, and possibly, best. The way this rainbow double pom pom hat is knit in the round, there is NO decrease. And do you know what that means? NO double pointed knitting needles required! Hooray! I know that DPN’s are not a favorite for a lot of people and that’s ok. That also makes this hat a great one for beginners, you don’t have to juggle the double pointed needles.
This cute double pom pom hat is finished with a three needle bind off at the top and if you grab the pdf version of the pattern I will walk you through that technique to finish the hat. Don’t worry, it’s super easy and it makes for a nice neat finished edge (since you can see it at the top of the hat, that’s important). There are also instructions in the pdf pattern for making fluffy pom poms without a pom pom maker!
