This adorable baby soccer ball hat knitting pattern combines several easy knitting techniques to knit this fun baby sports hat!
You guys, it’s actually kind of embarrassing how long it took me to design a soccer ball hat knitting pattern. I have a football hat. I have a baseball hat. I even have a basketball hat…
But I PLAYED SOCCER from first grade to high school! A soccer hat knitting pattern should have been the first thing I designed!
(Feel free to call is a futbol hat knitting pattern if you cringe at the word “soccer”, I totally get it)
The hang up was that I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the pattern to knit up easily for you. But I persisted, friends! And I figured out how to get this adorable black white soccer ball pattern using a simple combination of stitches! Nothing too crazy or complex! Yay!
(And yes, I realizes it’s all hexagons and a traditional soccer ball has a mixture of hexagons and pentagons, but… this is pretty darn close, am I right?)
You do need to know how to do some stranded knitting, I used fair isle techniques where I carried the unused color behind the work. But this is super easy-peasy. Once you have the pattern down, you won’t even really need the instructions!
Soccer Ball Hat Knitting Pattern

(please note, because of the pattern repeats, the sizing on this hat is different than most of my others; there are only three sizes, if in doubt, size up)
