I have a question about the fish scale stitch. Can it be done in the round? Also, do you knit a plain row in between the fish scale rows?

Yes, I’m knitting it in the round on a hat, in the video.
And yes there is a plain row between. And then every other fish scale row is offset by one stitch like bricks, if that makes sense.
