Mine was stuck in that place where she has lots of opinions and things to say but not enough words to say them which just makes her so frustrated. And crabby! So I thought a crabby crab hat was necessary. This crab hat has even got cute little claws and a sandy beach brim. Scroll on down to get the pattern!

Attaching the Eyes:
First lay one black eye wrong right side up on top of the white eye. Use the long cast on tail from the black piece to stitch the black to the white. Repeat with the other eye.
Then lay one white + black eye wrong (purl) sides together with one red eye. Use the long cast on tail from the white piece to whipstitch the white to the red. Make sure you are only catching purl stitches on the back of the red piece (don’t stitch all the way through the red) so that your white stitching doesn’t show through on the back of the eye. Repeat with the other eye.
Finally, use the long cast on tail from the red eye piece to stitch the entire layered eye to the crab hat securely. Weave in all ends.
Assembling the Claws:
Lay out the two A claws facing in opposite directions. Use the long cast on tails from the B claws to stitch them to the A claws as shown. Then use the long cast on tails from the A claws to stitch the assembled claws to the hat on either side.
Finally thread a length of black yarn on your yarn needle and use a backstitch to stitch the mouth. Make sure your stitches are fairly loose to they won’t pull when the hat stretches!
And that’s it your Crabby Crab Hat is finished!
