Adorable Eggplant Hat Knitting Pattern

Knit up an adorable eggplant hat for your little sprout with this easy eggplant knitting pattern, in newborn, baby and even adult sizes!

I knit up this eggplant hat because I really think eggplants are one of the most beautiful vegetables out there. That gorgeous shiny skin and deep purple color (or even better one of the variegated varieties…)! So I thought Baby V would look cute in deep purple eggplant hat. (UPDATE: knit it in red to get a TOMATO HAT!)

This eggplant hat or tomato hat is knit in the round and this time, instead of making the leaves separately and adding them on after the hat is completed, I used two color of yarn (fair isle/stranded knitting) during the decrease at the crown of the hat, to make the leaves as I went. Sometimes, you just want to get it all done at once, do you know what I mean?

I think it turned out really cute and bonus, make it in red and you’d have a really cute tomato hat!

Sizes included: 0-3 months, (6 months, 1-2 years, 3-6 years, Child Large/Adult Small, Adult Large) Read our sizing guidelines post for more information.

Gauge: 19 stitches = 4 inches

• Worsted weight yarn in purple and green  or red and green for tomato
• 16″ US 7 circular needles
• US 7 double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
