This scalloped bonnet knitting pattern uses a shockingly easy technique to create a pretty garter stitch scalloped edge!

Scalloped edges are so pretty in knitting and as I was experimenting with my a different way to knit heart shapes from my heart shaped handwarmers, I decided to try the same technique for other projects and the result is a pretty scalloped border on this incredibly easy garter stitch bonnet knitting pattern.

I don’t want spoil the secret but I promise, it’s a shockingly easy trick for scallops. I’m very pleased with how it came out!
This pretty bonnet pattern is knit mostly flat with worsted weight yarn (like Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice or Malabrigo worsted) and then joined to knitting the round with double pointed knitting needles or the magic loop method. Then the bonnet is finished off with cute icord ties.

I haven’t included adult sizing with this pattern because there isn’t a lot of demand for adult bonnets, but if I’m wrong and that’s something you all are interested in, please let me know!
