I just love this woven zig zag hat knitting pattern with it’s diagonal textured chevron steps, it looks great on all little ones from newborn, to baby, to toddler!
I just LOVE how this woven zig zag hat came out. I love the texture and the way it almost looks like the knit and purl stitches are weaving in and out. And I love how easy this one is to knit. You have to pay a little bit of attention as you knit so you don’t get confused, but it’s really not complicated. It may help you to place stitch markers between every 8 stitches to keep track of the pattern repeats.
Oh and did I mention that I love this dreamy soft hand-dyed mint yarn? I don’t knit with green a lot because for some reason it’s hard for me to photograph, it always ends up looking SO bright. But this beautiful mint is so pretty! It’s the color Mint in Malabrigo worsted, if you’re looking. Malabrigo worsted is on of may favorite worsted yarns, I love the subtle color variation.
Keep in mind, if you are choosing a hand dyed yarn for this pattern, choose a solid color, speckles and fades will really hid this complex pattern and you won’t be able to see the fun zig zags very well!
But this hat will really be gorgeous in any color that you choose. You can’t go wrong! If you knit up one of these woven zig zag hats, please don’t forget to share it with by linking your project on Ravelry, I love to see what you all create!
