Want to learn more about knitting sweaters?
Off the top of my head, I’m trying to think of the number of people I know who are currently pregnant or have a newborn. I can’t even count on my fingers. I guess I’m just at that age! A lot of these are second babies and I know traditionally second babies don’t get baby showers and quite as much new stuff. Which is fine, because let’s be honest, after you have one kid, does anyone need more stuff? ever? I’m joking but really, when I can get it together I do try and give second baby gifts when I can. Because I really do admire my mom friends who are having #2. Being pregnant while taking care of another small child is no joke!
So anyway, one of my best friends from growing up is due with No. 2 in just about a month. She lives a couple states away and most often we see each other here because she has family in town. But a few weeks ago we were invited to a wedding for one of Aa’s co-workers that just happened to be taking place near my friend’s house! So we added an extra day to our trip and got to see her and her family! Before we left, I whipped up another Stripey Baby Cardigan Sweater using the fabulous Baby Bunting Sweater pattern from Linden Down. It’s available free on ravelry so go check it out.
I was using the ends of some balls of yarn so I went with a seemingly random stripe pattern (it’s actually not) and I love how it turned out so I wanted to share. There was honestly a little bit of nail biting when I got reeeeeeally low on the gray yarn, I even briefly considered making it short sleeved, but I JUST barely managed to make it work. Phew! I can’t wait to see Baby G #2 in this!
