If you’re looking for patriotic 4th of July crafts, you’ve come to the right place! I really really really love the 4th of July.
The town I grew up in had a bike parade where the kids got to decorate their bikes and ride together (the original 4th of July crafts!) And there was a little festival with rides and food and stupid games! It’s a small enough town that when you go see the fireworks, no matter where you sit, they are pretty much almost right over your head.
It’s a lot different in the city. When we first moved here, Chicago still had its own big fireworks show and since we lived right by Grant Park, we got to see all the crazy. It was a zoo down there, and so overwhelming that it wasn’t fun.
And then the city stopped doing their own fireworks show. But we still had a view west from the roof of our building and we could sit up there and watch all the people shooting off illegal fireworks to the west of downtown and in the suburbs. It was kind of like the end of the chimney sweep scene in Mary Poppins. Do you know what I mean?
So anyway, we don’t live there anymore but my 4th of July enthusiasm has not gone away. So today I’m sharing 20 Festive 4th of July crafts that you can make to get in the spirit!
