This heirloom pumpkin wreath knitting pattern with adorable pumpkin leaves and curly tendrils makes for beautiful Fall decoration for years to come!
I’ve been knitting a lot of wreaths this year. I love the idea of knitting something that no one will outgrow and that I can pull out year after year after year to enjoy. This pumpkin wreath knitting pattern is my newest design and I’m in love with how it turned out.
These heirloom wreaths are a labor of love and would make a fantastic gift. But at the same time, the knitting is not particularly difficult so they’re a fun Fall project to knit. And because it’s a pumpkin, you can keep it up from September through Thanksgiving and it will fit in with your decor perfectly.
The pumpkin wreath itself is knit in the round with worsted weight yarn. The base of my wreath knitting patterns use a 2 inch diameter pool noodle (easy to find at the dollar store) because it’s very easy to form into a circle and very easy to cover in a knitted tube. Using a pre-formed wreath form would be much more difficult and require a lot more seaming. No thank you!
The pumpkin stem, leaves and tendrils are added at the end and you can make and secure them in any configuration you want! I get a little obsessed with knitting curly icord tendrils, I hope you enjoy them too!
Are you ready to knit a pumpkin wreath for Fall? Let’s do it!
