You won’t believe how easy it is to customize a plain vase! Perfect for parties!
You guys, I really have been trying to not buy unnecessary craft supplies. I got a ton from my mother-in-law’s office and that was on top of what I already have. So unless I have a specific project in mind, I’ve been trying not to grad anything else. But then the other day I found the cutest washi tape on one of those daily deal sites. I couldn’t not get it.
There’s another one I didn’t use for this that was coral colored with gold hearts. So cute! Anyway, this is totally the kind of craft supply I tend to hoard. I feel like I’m always waiting for the perfect project so I don’t “waste” it and then I never end up using it. So the other day, on impulse, while looking at some unusually pretty flowers I got at Trader Joe’s I decided, you know what? The sun in shining, these flowers are gorgeous, I’m using some of that washi tape! Seize the day! Enjoy it! So I did.
All there is to it is to wrap the washi tape around the vase, it’s easiest if you pick a part that’s pretty straight up and down, not a curvy section, otherwise it will be tough to get it on without having it wrinkle. So I put it both on a straight cylinder vase and around the top edge of a curvier vase. And the best thing about washi tape, in this circumstance, is that it’s not that sticky so it’s removable. Now I wouldn’t go put this on your grandmother’s vintage wedding crystal or anything, but it’s perfect to pretty up a boring plain florist vase. And wouldn’t it be so cute for a party?! You could grab some washi that went with your party theme or colors and it would be a great way to tie everything together!
