I sometimes wonder to myself, “self, what exactly is my goal here at Little Red Window?” I love sharing my creative life with you but is there anything more I really want to accomplish?  I’ve talked about it before, but I do realize that some of my more advanced projects can seem a little crazy to some people. Like why in the world would you spend several hours making that?!  Or I can buy that at Target, why would I make my own?

But one of my favorite things so far on this blogging journey has been helping other people see that creativity doesn’t have to be hard or scary. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve met who’ve told me they simply aren’t creative or crafty. In fact, one of my good friends declared that just a few months ago. And then I talked her into buying her very first hot glue gun and now she’s making projects from Martha Stewart’s website and diy-ing parts of her kids’ Halloween costumes. Creativity doesn’t have to be knitting an entire sweater from scratch. It doesn’t have to be building a set of bookshelves or building Thomas the Train from a cardboard box. You can be creative in small ways every day, and to be honest, some of my simplest projects are some of the most popular on this site.

So today I have another simple makeover that takes something regular and makes it just a little more special and fun. And I truly believe that these little bits of creativity can be just as valuable as bigger projects!

1. Does anyone else have an obsession with $1 aisles? I can’t NOT stop at them. And the other day I saw these giant clothespins in a bin in the $1 section of my local craft store. I grabbed a plain black one and quickly realized I could liven it up easily.

Then I cut it the right length in the other dimension, brushed on a little craft glue and applied the paper to the clothespin.
